With the long-rumored Snap Inc. IPO now in progress, Tuesday’s Chart takes a look at the markets where Snapchat has made the biggest impact among the trend-setting teen demographic (defined here as 16-19s).

This data clearly displays why the coming Snap Inc. IPO could see the platform valued so highly. Almost all the markets where Snapchat teen membership is highest are mature, relatively affluent countries. It’s now three quarters or more of this group in places like the UK, Canada and Australia who are on Snapchat, and it’s the most-used messaging service for this audience in the US. With such a vast reach among a demographic that is perennially coveted by brands and marketers, Snap Inc. is in a powerful position heading into its IPO.

And with the launch of Spectacles, its new smart glasses, the company will be hoping to solidify the interest of its core users even as the demographics of the Snapchat audience continue to broaden.
